Marta Graciela Bressi
MARTA GRACIELA BRESSI:Argentinian painter, sculptor, engraver and scenographer born in the city of Bahía Blanca, Province of Buenos Aires. Studied art at Escuela de Artes Plásticas (PROA) and took lessons with the painters Julia Vitale, and Ignacio Crespo as well as with the internationally renowned Argentinian sculptor Rafael Martín.
She's completely devoted to xylography, sculpting and digital art. She's already made three exhibitions using the last of the three means of expression. They´re unique in the sense that she uses the mouse as if it were a pencil- she even signs with it- but she doesn't employ any predetermined shapes. Once the drawing is complete she treats it with different graphic editors to apply different textures and effects to them. She's currently working on videos based on her latest digital production and also on CD cover artwork.
One of her latest works- Una Nada y Color-was used as the artwork for Camille DeVore´s latest jazz CD (Dream in Color), which was released in NY City on June 8th, 2008.
Thanks to Dirk Schreurs ( Belgium)- who´s generously offered her the use of his 2006 album ¨Minds of Glass¨ to set music to some of her latest videos- she's been able to finish eleven brand-new works.
This collaboration, which was born as two separate entities, came to fruition when Dirk saw in her digital art a reflection of his own compositions. It was a pleasant surprise for her to discover on listening to his music that his tunes pulse with the rhythm of her own creations.
Artists she likes: William Turner, Petorutti, Dalí, Leonardo Da Vinci, Georges Seurat
